Telangana won five ‘Green Apple Awards’ for ‘International Beautiful Buildings’ from London-based independent non-profit ‘The Green Organization’. Telangana’s outstanding achievements in building design and restoration are recognized with awards for the Yadagirigutta Temple, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat Building, Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge, Integrated Command Control Centre, and Mozam Jahi Market. Sri Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department, received the awards in London on 16 June, 2023.
The T-Hub Foundation was conferred with the Technology Business Incubator award (Category E) for its ‘outstanding contribution in techno-entrepreneurship development by way of promoting innovative, technology-driven knowledge-intensive startup enterprises in different areas’. The award was presented as part of the National Technology Week 2023 on 14th May 2023.
Telangana State bagged 13 awards in the National Panchayat Awards 2023 (appraisal year 2021-22), including eight under Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (DDUPSVP) and five under Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar (NDSPSVP). President Droupadi Murmu presented the awards to the winners. Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao along with Sarpanches received the awards in New Delhi on 17th April 2023.
Government of Telangana’s project Smart Nutrient Management of Soil has won the Gold Icon Award at the Digital India Awards 2022 in the category “Digital Initiatives in collaboration with Start-ups”. This category has been introduced in the Digital India Awards for the 1st time. The award was conferred by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi on 07th January 2023. Smt. L. Rama Devi, Director of Emerging Technologies Wing, received the award on behalf of the ITE&C Department and Agriculture Department, Government of Telangana.
Telangana has been adjudged as best performing state in Midwifery and emerged second in best performing states in High Risk Pregnancy Identification awards in the National Maternal Health workshop, organised by Maternal Health division of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW) in New Delhi. The awards were presented by the Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar to Joint Director (Maternal Health) Telangana, Dr S Padmaja.
Telangana’s Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Dept., has been conferred with the Green Champion Award by Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The award was presented under the category ‘IGBC State Government encouraging green building movement in India through a multi-pronged approach.’ Sri Sudarshan Reddy, Secretary, MA&UD Department, and other officials received the award at HICC, Hyderabad on 21st October 2022.
International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) has adjudged Hyderabad City as the Grand Winner of the World Green City Awards – 2022. The award was given to the Telangana Government’s massive green initiative – “Telangana Ku Haritha Haram.” The program envisages increasing the tree coverage of the State from 24% to 33% of the total geographical area of the State. AIPH has also chosen Hyderabad for ‘Living Green for Economic Recovery and Inclusive Growth’ Award.
The Government of India has awarded Telangana the First Prize among the States and UTs in the country for providing adequate and potable water supply on regular basis to rural households under Mission Bhagiratha in ‘Regularity’ category. Mission Bhagiratha team comprising of E-in-C Krupakar Reddy and other senior officers received the Award from the Union Jal Shakthi Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on 2nd October 2022 as part of Gandhi Jayanti ‘Swachh Bharat Divas’ celebrations.
16 civic bodies in Telangana received the prestigious Swachh Survekshan 2022 awards under South Zone. Hon’ble President Droupadi Murmu presented the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022 at a function held in New Delhi on 1st October 2022. Swachh Survekshan is a yearly survey of cleanliness, hygiene and sanitation in cities and towns across India, instituted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).
The State won National Tourism Awards in four categories. The categories are Best State (Comprehensive Development of Tourism), Best Golf Course (Hyderabad Gold Club), Best Railway Station (Secunderabad Railway Station) and Best Medical Tourism Facility (Apollo Hospitals). State Tourism Minister V. Srinivas Goud received the awards on behalf of the State. The awards were presented by the Union government at World Tourism Day celebrations held in New Delhi on September 27-2022.
441 government hospitals in Telangana qualified for Kayakalp awards for the financial year 2021-22. Of the 441 health facilities, 12 are district hospitals, eight are Area Hospitals, nine are Community Health Centres, 225 are Primary Health Centres, 73 are Urban Primary Health Centres, and 114 Health and Wellness Centres.
The Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has awarded the certificate of appreciation to the Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department of the Telangana government. The State was recognised as a top performer in developing a strong startup ecosystem in the State. The State was also recognised as an institutional champion, a capacity-building pioneer, an incubation hub, and an innovative leader. 4th July 2022.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj has conferred awards to 19 Panchayats in Telangana. The awards were bagged under four categories which are Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar, Child-friendly Gram Panchayat Award, Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award, Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar.
Three Telangana districts won awards for achieving progress in the elimination of Tuberculosis (TB). Nizamabad won the Silver award, Bhadrachalam and Khammam won bronze. They were presented at the World TB Day programme held in New Delhi on March 24-2022. Officials from the State Health Department received the awards.
Centre for Good Governance (CGG), Telangana, received the prestigious National Silver Award for e-Governance 2020-21 for Telangana State Mana Isuka Vahanam (My Sand Vehicle). The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances presented the award for universalizing access including e-services. The award was presented during the 24th National Conference on e-governance held in Hyderabad in January-2022.
Telangana State is one of the top two performing States and is a winner in 12 categories at the national-level sanitation challenges and competitions conducted by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoUHA). States were evaluated under the categories such as ‘Swachh Survekshan’ and ‘Garbage Free City Rating’ & ‘Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge’, aimed at improving the overall sanitation condition, enhancing citizen awareness and engagement towards waste management across the 4,300 Indian cities and towns. While GHMC was declared a winner under Swachh Survekshan-2021 and Garbage Free City Rating-2021 categories, Karimnagar Municipal Corporation won under the Safai Mitra Suraksha Challenge.
Telangana secured first place in the country for conducting wellness activities and emerged second for conducting screening of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) at sub-centre level during the ‘Health and Fit Nation’ campaign, which was organized by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW). The two awards under the category ‘Health and Fit Nation’ were handed over to State health authorities by the Union Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day-2021 function held in New Delhi on 13th December 2021.
Telangana had a rich haul of 12 awards in the National Panchayat Awards 2021 (Appraisal year 2019-20) announced by the Union Panchayat Raj Ministry. As many as nine Gram Panchayats, two Mandal parishads, and one Zilla Parishad have bagged awards in different categories in the Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar 2021.
SKOCH adjudged Minister for IT, KT Rama Rao, as the ‘Best Performing IT Minister’ in the country for 2020. Also, Telangana State has won the “e-Governance State of the Year” Award by SKOCH Group.
The Digital Media Wing of Telangana IT, E&C Department won the Public Relations Society of India’s (PRSI) National Award under “Communications Campaign of the Year – Covid 19” for the year 2020. Sri Dileep Konatham, Director, Digital Media, received the Award in a virtual event held by PRSI. The Chief Guests at the Awards event were Sri Ramesh Pokhriyal, Union Minister of Education and Smt. Baby Rani Maurya, Hon’ble Governor, Uttarakhand. The outreach initiatives of Telangana IT, E&C Dept. that were chosen for the PRSI Award under “Communications Campaign of the Year – Covid 19” category: TS GOVT COVID INFO – WhatsApp Chatbot and Telangana Fact Check Portal.
Telangana State Seed and Organic Certification Authority (TSSOCA) has been presented with the India Seed Award as the best seed certification Authority in the country by the Agriculture Today Group. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar presented the award from New Delhi through virtual conference on 21st November 2020. National Rainfed Area Authority (NRAA) Chief Executive Officer Ashok Dalwai and other officials were also present. TSSOCA Managing Director K Keshavulu received the award.
Telangana Government’s double bedroom housing project got yet another national recongintion with the Kollur project bagging the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) award. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking up a huge project of constructing 15,660 double bedroom houses at Kollur at a cost of Rs.1,408 crore. The project bagged HUDCO award for Best Practices 2019-20 under Housing, Urban Poverty and Infrastructure theme.
The prestigious Skoch Gold award, was presented to Telangana State Police for contributing to outstanding, and timely support to vulnerable people such as daily wage, migrant workers and to many others during the devastating period of corona virus pandemic. Since Day 1 of the lockdown began, Telangana State Police have ensured that no child/ family in the state sleeps hungry. To achieve the same, and tackle the disaster in a humane way, the department brought together all the Nodal Police Officers, NGO’s, Corporate bodies, Pharmaceutical companies, Retail agencies, banks and other organisations under one common group called the- ‘Food Partners’, so as to serve and assist every family in need.
T-Chits, Telangana’s Blockchain Project for administering Chit Funds in the State, has won National Conference on e-Governance 2020 (NCeG 2020) Gold Award under the ‘Excellence in Adopting Emerging Technologies’ category. Ms. Rama Devi Lanka, Director, Emerging Technologies received the Award from Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Sri Jitendra Singh during the 23rd edition of the Conference on 8th February, 2020 in Mumbai.
Telangana State awarded the Most Improved Big state in Governance for 2019 at India Today State of the States Conclave. Rajyasabha MP Sri K. Kesava Rao received the award on behalf of State from Hon’ble Union Minister Prakash Javdekar at India Today State of the States Conclave-2019 in New Delhi on 22nd November 2019.
Telangana adds another feather in its cap with the Swachh Survekshan Grameen Award-2019. Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Sri D. Sadananda Gowda presented the Award to Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Sri Errabelli Dayakar Rao in New Delhi on 19th November 2019. Under the leadership of CM Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana Government has taken up novel initiatives for improving sanitation conditions in the State. The Palle Pragathi (the 30-day Action Plan to solve the civic problems in the rural areas) programme carried out by the Government enabled the State to achieve remarkable results in sanitation and also helped in controlling the spread of diseases.
TSAT – a public television network under ITE&C Dept., Govt. of Telangana – has earned a rare honour. It was selected for the Digital Transformation in Education Award instituted by Governance Now. TSAT, CEO Sri Shailesh Reddy received the award on 6 November, 2019 in New Delhi. Over the past three years, TSAT network channels have become very popular among the unemployed youth, particularly those residing in remote areas and who cannot afford paying fees for coaching. The network expanded to new media platforms line Facebook, Twitter and YouTube apart from the traditional satellite media.
Telangana Government bagged National Tourism Award under ‘Most Innovative Use of IT and Social Media/Mobile App/Website’ category for its first-of-its-kind mobile app – ‘I Explore Telangana’. The App provides information on Telangana’s tourist destinations, among other services. Vice President Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu presented the award at a ceremony in New Delhi on 27th September, 2019, in the presence of Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Sri Prahalad Singh Patel. Telangana Minister for Tourism & Culture Sri V. Srinivas Goud received the award while Prl. Secretary (Tourism & Culture) Sri C. Parthasarathi, Tourism Commissioner Smt. Sunita M Bhagwat and Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation MD Sri B. Manohar were present at the ceremony.
Hyderabad bagged the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM) Swachhata Excellence Award. Hyderabad is the only Metro city with over one million population to get the Swachhata Excellence award. Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Sri M. Dana Kishore received the Swachhata Excellence Award from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Secretary Sri DS. Mishra at New Delhi on February 15, 2019.
The Telangana Irrigation department has bagged the prestigious ‘Central Board of Irrigation and Power’ award for the year 2018. The award was presented for implementation of the Mission Bhagiratha scheme in the state which was initiated for rejuvenating the rivers and protecting the water resources. The award was presented by Union Minister Sri Nitin Gadkari to Minor Irrigation CE Sri Shyamsundar on Friday in New Delhi.

Sri Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Highways presented the Best Municipal Corporation in Solid Waste Management award to GHMC Commissioner Sri B. Janardhan Reddy at the Nava Bharath Infrastructure Conclave held in Mumbai on August 24, 2018.
The Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department has bagged 22 Skoch awards under various categories for its reforms, innovations and citizen-centric policies. The Commissioner and Director for Municipal Administration (CDMA) and the Mission for Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) each have been selected for two awards. Siddipet municipality has bagged six awards while Sircilla got five. The Karimangar Municipal Corporation won three awards whereas Boduppal and Shadnagar municipalities received two each.
Telangana bags four Swachh Survekshan 2018 Awards with Hyderabad standing as the Best City in Solid Waste Management. Siddipet secured the award for ‘Cleanest City in South zone’, Boduppal was awarded ‘Best City in Citizens Feedback-South Zone’ and Peerzadiguda received the award for ‘Best City in Innovation and Best Practices-South Zone’.
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has bagged the Prime Minister’s Excellence Award for its programmes in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Health Department of the State government has received ‘CSI Nihilent e-Governance Awards-2017’ for adopting technology to extend health care services in State-run health institutions and various schemes in the State. The authorities succeeded in applying technology in KCR Kits scheme, Mother and Child Tracking System (MCTS), National Health Mission (NHM) payroll automation through Aadhaar, e-Hospitals and many more. Commissioner of Health and Family Welfare, Karuna Vakati and other senior health officials received the Computer Society of India’s (CSI) Nihilent e-Governance (CNeG) Award from Finance Minister of West Bengal, Amit Mitra and Deputy Speaker, Rajasthan in a function held recently in Kolkata.

Novel initiatives like Mission Bhagiratha (Urban), Haritha Haaram and Double Bedroom Housing schemes in urban areas have received immense appreciation. Principal Secretary for Municipal Administration Sri Naveen Mittal and Telangana Bhavan Resident Commissioner Sri Arvind Kumar received the award on behalf of the State government.

Telangana state received awards in two categories. The best performing large state award in the all-important Economy category and the Cleanliness and Environment category at the annual India Today State of the States conclave 2017. Awards were received on behalf of the state by the Ministers Sri KT Rama Rao and Sri Jogu Ramana from the Union Minister Sri Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on November 16th, 2017.
Telangana state honoured with eight awards for the promotion of tourism and cleanliness at the World Tourism Day celebrations of the Ministry of Tourism in New Delhi. The awards were announced for Telangana in the categories of heritage structures, cleanliness in tourist places and tourist guides. The state received awards for Cleanliness, Best Tourist Guide, Best Tourism Promotion, Publicity Material, Best Heritage City, Best Maintained and Disable Friendly Monument, Civic Management Tourist Destination in India, Best Stand alone Convention Centre and Best Medical Tourism Facility.
The KCR Kits project, which provides financial benefits for pregnant women and a kit containing essentials for infants, has been selected for SKOCH Order-of-Merit Award. The SKOCH Award has been presented at the 49th SKOCH summit in New Delhi.

TASK (Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge) has been awarded the prestigious SKOCH Platinum Award for revamping Skilling Initiatives for Youth in Telangana State. A unique skill development initiative from IT,E&C Department which aims at improving the quality of graduates coming out of colleges are gaining recognition throughout the country.
State Civil Supplies Department has received two National SKOCH Awards this year for introducing the latest technology-based Command Control Centre and Financial Management System, Online Procurement Management System (FMS-OPMS) wings. The Telangana Civil Supplies Corporation stood first in the country by adopting Information Technology for its various programmes. Command Control Centre in Civil Supplies is a one-of-its-kind established in the country. The Financial Management System was developed to ease the daily transactions which can be viewed online by concerned staff and officers.
Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has been selected for SKOCH Award for providing online services and also another award for bringing reforms in conducting the Intermediate examinations. The award was presented to the Board Secretary Dr. Ashok in New Delhi.
Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC), which has won the ‘Order of Merit’ award-2017 by Skoch, has also bagged the ‘Skoch Gold’ award for being voted as the best city among the 123 cities that were selected for different category Skoch awards. Mayor Nannapuneni Narender received the award at Constitution Club of India in New Delhi. It may be noted here that the Gurgaon-based Skoch Group, an independent assessor of States, has been giving away awards to encourage top-performing government bodies and organizations working to eliminate open defecation, enhancing sanitation and public health. The Warangal city has recently won the Best Heritage City award and ‘Unnat Bharat Abhiyan’ award too.
Hon’be Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao is selected for the Agriculture Leadership Award – 2017 by the Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA). The award is in recognition of his path-breaking initiatives in irrigation and agriculture sectors, the selection committee said. The Committee quoted that the interventions of the State Govt was “creating far-reaching impact on the rural sector” and had touched the lives of millions of farmers. The prestigious award was presented by Prof. Dr. K. S. Solanki, Governor of Haryana to Minister for Agriculture Sri Pocharam Srinivas Reddy at the 10th Global Agriculture Leadership Summit in New Delhi.

Warangal District – effective implementation of the programme, Manoharabad (Nizamabad District) Sarpanch – individual award for providing highest employment days. Mr. Abdul Sattar – post office award for clearing all payments on time, Deen Dayal Gramin Kaushal Yojana (DDU KKY) Award for the State and Geo-MGNREGS Award for best utilisation of ‘Bhuvan’ software for Panchayat Raj Dept.
Telangana Police received five awards at Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Homeland Security Conference held in New Delhi on 25 May, 2017. Smart passport verification process, cyber forensics lab initiative, smart innovative policing won laurels at the Conference while Hyderabad Police Commissioner and Suryapet SP were presented with special jury awards.
Telangana Police’s Hawk Eye mobile app has been selected for National e-Governance Gold Award for 2016-17 under the category of Innovative Use of Mobile Phone Technology in e-Governance. The Award is instituted by Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and Department of Electronics and Information Technology, GoI. Commissioner, Hyderabad Police received the Award from Union Minister of State, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology Sri PP Chowdary at the National Conference on e-Governance held on January 9 & 10, 2017 at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. Hawk Eye App was the only eGov initiative from a Police Department out of all the 20 Awardees selected under 12 categories.
Telangana secured Best Performing State Award at the All India Police Duty Meet held in Mysore from December 19-23, 2016. Telangana Police also won awards under ‘Scientific Aids to Investigation’, ‘Forensic Sciences’, ‘Computer Awareness’, ‘Lifting and Packing of Exhibits’, ‘Police Dog Investigation’ and ‘Best State in India for empowering Police with Information Technology’ categories.

IT E&C Department Secretary Sri Jayesh Ranjan and Finance Department Special Chief Secretary Sri K Pradeep Chandra were selected for the Skoch Challenger Award under Social Inclusion category for their efforts in promoting entrepreneurship among Dalits through Industries Department. Sri Jayesh Ranjan received the award from Union Urban Development Minister Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu.

Body-worn Camera initiative of Police Department and eVahan Bima initiative of Transport Department has got laurels to the State. A V Ranganath, IPS, DCP Traffic, Hyderabad and Sandeep Kumar Sultania, IAS, Transport Commissioner, Hyderabad have received the awards on behalf of Police and Transport Departments respectively.

Telangana State IT Department has won ‘Skoch Smart Technology Award 2015’ for two of its initiatives – Digital Telangana and MeeSeva 2.0. Sri GT Venkateshwar Rao, Commissioner, Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) and Kum. Radha Sindhiya, OSD, IT E&C Department received the Awards on 10 December in New Delhi.
IT & Panchayat Raj Minister Sri KT Rama Rao received the India Today State of States 2015 Special Jury Award for Inclusive Development from Union Home Minister Sri Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on November 06, 2015. Telangana won the Award in Best Infrastructure category last year.
IT and Panchayat Raj Minister Sri KT Rama Rao received HUDCO’s special award for Telangana Drinking Water Supply Project from Union Minister for Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation Sri Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi on April 27, 2015.
CNN IBN “Indian of the year 2014” Popular Choice Award was awarded to Honourable Chief Minister Sri. K. Chandrashekar Rao. The award was received by MP Sri K. Keshava Rao on behalf of the Chief Minister at New Delhi (17-03-2015).
Telangana was chosen for the State with Best Infrastructure Award at the India Today Conclave on 31 October, 2014. Telangana IT Minister K T Rama Rao received the Award representing the State.
Telangana won ‘Skoch Renaissance Award 2014’ in ICT category. Union Minister of Urban Development and Housing Sri Venkaiah Naidu presented the Award on 21 November, 2014 in New Delhi.
Telangana was awarded ‘outstanding performer in promotion of renewable energy’ at the first Renewable Energy Global Investment and Expo Re-INVEST, held in New Delhi on the 15 February, 2015. Telangana Energy Minister Sri G. Jagadish Reddy received the award from Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi.
