On the occasion of the Telangana Decennial Celebrations, Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao unfurled the national flag at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat and later addressed the people of the state.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao’s speech on the occasion of Decennial Telangana state Formation Day Celebrations.
My best wishes to all the people on the auspicious occasion of the decennial Telangana State Formation Day celebrations. Telangana, which we dreamed of and fought for, today stands at the top in a decade. Let us celebrate the history of 60 years of struggle and ten years of progress. Let us become a great inspiration for future progress.
Ever since the formation of Andhra Pradesh in 1956 when Telangana was merged with the Andhra region against the will of the people, the people of Telangana have continuously voiced their disapproval. The Telangana movement that erupted in 1969 was brutally suppressed. In the elections held in 1971, even though public opinion came out in support of the demand for a separate Telangana, it was not respected by the central government. As a result, the society of Telangana was deeply disappointed. Although some efforts were made to ignite the movement, those efforts failed due to the lack of confidence in the leadership and the conspiracies of the rulers in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. Till 2001, silence reigned in Telangana. People have lost hope in Telangana statehood. The movement took off in 2001, breaking that depression and despair. My life was blessed to have the historic role of leading that movement.
Gradually, all the sections came and joined the Second phase Telangana movement, which was carried out in a non-violent and peaceful way, based on wisdom and strategy. Intellectuals, educated people, working teachers, poets, artists, workers, farmers, students and women who played a prominent role in this movement moved unitedly, regardless of caste and religious differences. I respectfully bow to all of them on the occasion of decennial Telangana Formation Day celebrations. My heartfelt tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives to the achievement of Telangana state. Ever since it came to power in 2014, the BRS government has been dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of the Martyrs and the aspirations of the people.
It is a milestone for Telangana, which is running on the path of progress and achieving amazing results in every field, in a 10-year time. On this occasion, the Telangana government has decided to organize the 10th state formation day celebrations in a grand manner. This festival will be celebrated for 21 days from today. I request all the people to enthusiastically participate in these festivals which are happening across the state from the village level to the capital city.
Let us remember the unprecedented spirit shown by the people in the struggle and the journey of progress and the commitment of the Telangana government to fulfill the aspirations of the martyrs. Let us show the progress of Telangana, which is the guiding force to the country. Let’s set future tasks.
The community of Telangana fought tirelessly for six decades and achieved independence. Telangana state came into existence on 2nd June 2014 after conquering the ambition of the people. If you remember the days of the emergence of Telangana… it was destruction in any field. It is a historic achievement that Telangana has overcome ambiguities and hurdles to become the most formidable economic power in the country.
The government taken up the responsibility of leading the society on the path of development by setting the destroyed sectors on a right path Telangana.
It was committed to changing the discriminatory policies followed by the rulers in the United Andhra Pradesh. It took a step forward with the slogan “Telangana should be rediscovered, Telangana should be rebuilt”. It designed new policies with a Telangana perspective. Various laws, plans and guidelines have been formulated based on the immediate needs, resources, facts and available conditions of the people of Telangana.
I made a promise as the Chief Minister of the State in the state formation meeting held at Parade Grounds on June 2, 2014. On that day, I assured the people that I would shape Telangana in such a way that the nation would learn from the state of Telangana and that it would be a benchmark for India. Within a span of nine years, Telangana has become an inspiring state in many fields.
The BRS government is fully aware of the aspirations expressed by the people in the Telangana movement. Based on the experience of leading the Telangana movement, the Manifesto was formulated and implemented with sincerity in a way that reflected the aspirations of the people of Telangana.
If we compare the conditions of those days with the conditions of today during the decennial celebrations of the state’s birth, the astonishing achievements we have achieved move before our eyes.
In the nine years since the formation of Telangana state, almost three years have been wasted due to the corona epidemic. And in the remaining short period of six years, the state climbed the peaks of progress with jet speed.
Now this is modern Telangana. The Telangana model is heard everywhere in the country. The development model of Telangana is being appreciated at the national and international levels.
I humbly state that Telangana’s progress, which started slowly amid many challenges and obstacles, is running today because of the dedicated public representatives, bureaucracy, government employees and public cooperation. Our state has set a new trend in not only achieving development but also in providing the fruits of development to the people. Today, the schemes designed from a humanitarian perspective are popular all over the country. Telangana government schemes are not only viable as an ideal for other states, but the people of those states also want Telangana-style development for themselves. We feel very proud and happy when the chief ministers and officials of other states who have visited our state are attracted by our schemes and announce that they will implement them in their states as well.
Telangana has ushered in a golden age in welfare with the slogan “Let’s increase the wealth and share it with the people” and has been at the forefront of development. In 2014, the per capita income of Telangana was only Rs. 1,24,104. With the progress achieved by the Telangana government, today the per capita income of our state has increased to 3 lakh 17 thousand 115 rupees. Telangana, which is only ten years old, is better than the big states in the country in terms of per capita income. In 2014, the GSDP value of the state was only Rs. 5,05,849 crores, but today, the state GSDP has increased to Rs. 12,93,469 crores due to the financial support of all sectors of the state. That is, despite the crises like corona and demonetization, Telangana has recorded a growth rate of 155 percent and stood at the threshold of the decade.
Today, there are no power cuts in the state. Telangana stands first in the country in terms of per capita electricity consumption and a proud movement the state unfurled the banner of progress.
All the wastelands of Telangana have become agricultural Fields with lifting of river waters. Mission Bhagiratha addressed Telangana’s drinking water woes. The rural economy of Telangana has been boosted by giving financial incentives to professional workers. Rural living standards have increased with rural progress. Our Model villages are receiving many awards at the national level. Towns and cities are getting global recognition as abodes of cleanliness and greenness.
Telangana stands as number one in many fields in any aspect. In one word.. yesterday’s struggling Telangana has become bright Telangana today.
On the occasion of the decade celebrations. Financial Assistance to Artisans among BC Communities:
I am very happy to say that as a gift of decennial celebrations, we are providing family financial assistance of Rs. One Lakh to Rajaka, Nayi Brahmin, Vishwa Brahmin, Kummari, Medari etc.
Similarly, it is known that large-scale distribution of sheep has been undertaken to Golla Kurmas. In the first phase, 82.64 lakh sheep were distributed to 3.93 lakh beneficiaries at a cost of Rs. 6,100 crore. Currently, as part of the second phase, the program to distribute sheep to 3.38 lakh people with a cost of Rs. 5 thousand crores will start during the formation day celebrations.
Podu lands Distribution:
On the occasion of the Telangana Decennial state formation day celebrations, I am very happy to inform that the Telangana Government is fulfilling the long-standing aspiration of the tribals. The Telangana government is providing land rights to the tribals as a permanent solution to the problem of drought. From June 24, the government is starting to distribute podu land pattas. One lakh and fifty thousand adivasis and tribals who depend on forest lands are given ownership rights over four lakh acres of Podu lands. Steps are being taken to apply the Rythu Bandhu scheme for this.
Distribution of house plots to the poor:
As part of the formation day celebrations, the government has decided to distribute house plots to the deserving people in the already identified government lands across the state. The government will Identify the deserving poor and allocate habitable government land in the respective villages for the construction of houses for the poor.
Distribution of KCR Nutrition Kits in 24 districts:
Whatever scheme the Telangana government introduces, there is a humanitarian aspect behind it. Every effort of the government is going on to understand and solve every problem faced by the poor. To prevent the problem of anemia in pregnant women, the government is providing nutrition with proteins and vitamins through nutrition kits for the healthy growth of the fetus. This scheme already started in 9 districts and is achieving good results. I am happy to inform that the government is starting the distribution of nutrition kits in the remaining 24 districts during the celebrations.
Launch of Griha Lakshmi Scheme:
The government has announced a scheme called Griha Lakshmi for the poor who have their own land and cannot build houses. I am glad to announce that we are launching this scheme in the name of women in the month of July.
Under the scheme, 3 lakh rupees will be provided for the construction of each house in three phases. The government is going to spend 12 thousand crore rupees for the implementation of this scheme.
Dalit Bandhu as a movement:
The Telangana government, based on the teachings of Indian Constitution Architect Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, is implementing a revolutionary scheme called “Dalitbandhu” with the ambition of enabling Dalits to live with self-respect and self-reliance. The government is giving 10 lakh rupees as a 100% grant to every Dalit family in the state like never before in history. It does not need to be repaid by the beneficiaries. With this money, the government is supporting Dalits to choose the jobs they like and live with self-respect.
Under the Dalit Bandhu scheme, the government has so far provided 5,000 crore rupees to 50 thousand beneficiaries. 17,700 crores have been allocated for this scheme in this year’s budget. Dalit bandhu scheme is being provided to 1 lakh 30 thousand people in the second phase.
We implemented the Dalit Bandhu Scheme 100 percent in Huzurabad Constituency. In the remaining 118 constituencies, we are currently extending benefits to 1,100 people in each constituency. It is my wish that Dalits should come forward and progress in the industrial and business sectors.
In accordance with this, the government is also implementing a 15 percent reservation for Dalits in the licenses given to profitable businesses. Reservation is applicable in the allotment of fertilizer shops, allotment of hostel contracts, and allotment of medical shops. Recently, out of 2,616 wine shops allotted in the state, 261 shops have been allotted to Dalits.
20 lakh rupees is being provided under the Ambedkar Overseas Scholarship for Dalit students to pursue higher education abroad. The government is supplying free 101 units of power to the household of Dalits.
The State Government is implementing the Special Development Fund Act for the development of Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Funds meant for SCs and STs are protected from being diverted to other schemes. In case these funds are not fully spent in any financial year, this Act has brought provisions to carry forward the funds to the next year.
Restoration of ponds under Mission Kakatiya
Mission Kakatiya is a massive scheme undertaken immediately after the formation of the Telangana government. The irrigation system of chain ponds built by the Kakatiya kings is vital to Telangana in accordance with the geophysical conditions of Telangana. The system of ponds was ruined in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. The ponds are filled with silt and not functioning. I myself named the scheme to revive the ponds Mission Kakatiya in memory of the Kakatiyas.
Through this scheme, more than 47 thousand ponds in the state have been restored, pond embankments have been strengthened, canals and culverts have been repaired and silt has been removed. As a result of which the water storage capacity of ponds in the state has increased significantly. Rs 5,350 crore has been spent on rehabilitating ponds, construction of extensive check dams and revitalization of streams has stabilized lakhs of acres of Ayacut. As a result, today 94 lakh acres of paddy are cultivated across the country, out of which, 56 Lakh acres are cultivated in Telangana alone in Yasangi.
Today in many places of the country the ground water levels are depleting. But, in the state of Telangana, Water is flowing abundantly. Under the ponds, the crop fields look like green carpets the Ayacut gets abundant irrigation water.
Safe Drinking Water supply through Mission Bhagiratha
Telangana is the only state that supplies 100% of households with purified fresh water through taps under Mission Bhagiratha. On this occasion, I remind you that if the state does not provide purified water through taps to every house if women do not stop washing their hands for drinking water, I will not ask the people for their votes in the early days of the state. I fulfilled my promise.
Telangana State ranks first in the country in providing potable drinking water to every household. While West Bengal is at the bottom of the country’s largest states, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state Gujarat is at the third position. The central government is implementing a scheme called “Har Ghar Jal Yojana” by emulating the Mission Bhagiratha.
According to the water quality information report prepared by the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation Mission Bhagiratha under the Union Jal Shakti Department, it has been confirmed that 99.95 percent of tap water in Telangana alone is free of pollutants. Mission Bhagiratha has received many awards and accolades including National Water Mission Award and Jal Jeevan Awards.
Now there are no incidents of people walking for miles with water bottles for water. There are no dharnas of people with empty bottles, there are no scenes of people becoming disabled due to fluorosis due to drinking of fluoridated water. It is a fact accepted by everyone including the Center that there is no fluoride suffering anywhere in the state today.
Electricity is a success
No single government has solved the problem of electricity in sixty years of administration. It is not necessary to mention the plight of the farmers due to insufficient supply of electricity to the agriculture. Generators, inverters and converters have become indispensable in people’s lives. Repeatedly the motors would burn out. Transformers explode like firecrackers. Industries collapse with power holidays. The industrialists had to stage a dharna near Indira Park.
Rulers in United Andhra Pradesh complained that if Telangana comes, the state will be in darkness and they will have to hang their clothes on the electricity wires. Turning their expectations upside down, the Telangana government has achieved revolutionary achievements in the power sector. Today, the glory of Telangana as the only state to provide uninterrupted 24-hour electricity to all sectors and free agriculture is spreading across the country.
The Telangana farmer does not have to worry about electricity or water being cut off. No fear of burning the motor. It is getting wet till the end. The government is spending 12 thousand crores annually for free electricity for agriculture and is showing its sincerity towards the welfare of farmers. In the state of Gujarat, which is represented by the country’s prime minister, a power holiday is announced in each district on a day-by-day basis, but in the young state of Telangana, which is entering the decade, there is no such thing as crop holidays or power holidays. That is why the Telangana model has become a topic of discussion across the country today.
The installed power generation capacity of Telangana was 7,778 MW at the time of its formation as a self-governing state, and today we have been able to increase it to 18,453 MW. At the time of formation of the state, solar power generation was only 74 MW, but today we have been able to increase it to 5,741 MW. Telangana is leading in solar power generation in the country.
The government adopted a three-pronged strategy to develop the Telangana power sector. Improved internal efficiency in the organization. The plant load factor is increased. Losses in distribution are avoided. 765 KV lines was laid from Wardha to Hyderabad as Telangana state government entered into a power purchase agreement with Chhattisgarh. Government has built new power stations to solve the problem permanently.
KTPS completed construction of Phase 7 in record time. The construction of Bhupalapally and Jaipur plants has been completed and an additional 1800 MW of electricity has been made available. 360 MW of hydel power has been provided by Jurala and Pulichintala. The generation has started at the 1080 MW Bhadradri Thermal Power Station built by the Telangana Government. The construction of the Yadadri Ultra Mega Power Plant, which is being built by TS.Genco at Damaracharla with a production capacity of 4000 MW, has reached the final stage.. Soon we will get the results of this plant.
Telangana power companies have made great strides in improving production as well as supply. The distribution system has been strengthened with the construction of sub-stations, installation of power transformers, distribution transformers and construction of new lines at a cost of Rs.22,502 crore.
Today, Telangana is also ahead in per capita consumption of electricity. Per capita electricity consumption in Telangana was 1,356 units in 2014-15 and increased to 2,126 units by 2021-22. At the same time, the national average was only 1,255 units. That means the per capita electricity consumption in Telangana is 69 percent more than the national per capita consumption.
Golden Era in Irrigation
Telangana farmers never got irrigation water except for tears in their eyes. The determination to quench the thirst of the Telangana farmers occupied my mind from the time of the movement. I have clearly defined the goals to be achieved in the irrigation sector.
As soon as the government of Telangana came to power, it moved forward with the objectives of speedy completion of the projects that had been neglected for years, modernization of old projects like Nagarjunasagar, Nizamsagar, Sriram Sagar, immediate implementation of uninitiated project works in the common state, effective utilization of available water resources and increase in crop yield.
The government has developed 20 lakh acres of new ayacut by completing the construction of pending projects such as Kalvakurti, Bima, Nettempadu, Koil Sagar, Ellampalli, Mid Maneru, Devada, etc. As a result, the joint Palamuru, known as the migration district, is today bustling with green hands with crop canals.
The people who migrated in the past have returned to their hometowns. They are happily cultivating their fields. Mirroring this amazing change, I myself wrote a song that said, “The drought district, which is full of migrants, has completed the pending projects, filled the ponds, covered the mother of Palamuru with the green of the earth…”
Palamuru-Ranga Reddy lift project is more than 80 percent completed. With this project, every acre in the combined districts of Palamuru and Rangareddy will be irrigated.
The work of Sitarama project for greening of the joint Khammam district has reached its final stage. I am happy to announce that we are going to complete this project soon and provide irrigation water to the farmers’ crop fields.
The construction of the Kaleswaram project, which aims to stabilize irrigation water for another 20 lakh acres, along with a new ayacut of 20 lakh acres, is an unprecedented milestone in the history of the country. Thousands of laborers and engineers worked day and night to complete this multi-stage massive lifting project, which is the largest in the world, in a short period of only three and a half years. The Godavari River, which flows at a height of 80 meters above sea level, is being lifted to a maximum of 618 meters by huge pumps. Today the Kaleshwaram project has made the Godavari a permanent source of life for 250 km. About 20 lakh acres of new Ayacut has been developed. Telangana, once starving for a drop of water, is now teeming with more than 20 reservoirs. It is flourishing as a source of rice for the country.
At the very beginning of Telangana’s formation, I explained the irrigation policy to be followed by the government in the state legislature through a powerpoint presentation.
As a result of this policy, irrigated areas of about 75 lakh acres have been created in the state today. Another 50 lakh acres will be irrigated in two to three years. With the construction of large and medium-sized projects, Telangana is becoming a state of ” Sujala, Suphala and Sasyasyamala”. The dream of providing irrigation to 1 crore 25 lakh acres in the state will be realized soon.
Cultivated like a festival – Abundant Yielding
Telangana State has achieved a remarkable transformation in the field of agriculture. Remembering the sufferings of the farmers in the United Andhra Pradesh still makes my stomach churn. No irrigation water. There is no electricity, dry boreholes and paddy fields on one side, on the other side there is no crop investment, debt is burdened, in the hands of brokers, the poor and disoriented farmers commit suicide and their families are left with indescribable grief.
I am also a farmer’s child. These difficulties and losses faced by farmers are also my own experience. That’s why, as a farmer’s child, I thought that it is not enough to provide irrigation water alone, but only when the farmer is given investment assistance, cultivation becomes possible. The Telangana government has implemented schemes for the welfare of farmers that no one had even dreamed of. After the emergence of the state, many welfare schemes were undertaken with the insistence of proving that agriculture is not a cesspool, and it was successful in achieving the target.
In 2018, the Rythu Bandhu Scheme was launched 2018, unlike anywhere else in the country, to solve the investment difficulties of the farmers. It has been five years since the introduction of this scheme. Under this scheme till now in ten installments more than 65 thousand crores of cash has been directly deposited into the accounts of 65 lakh farmers. Due to the digitization of land records, the government is able to send Rythubandhu cash directly into the farmers’ accounts based on the clarification of the details of the farmers’ lands. It can be said that no state in the country has provided such huge investment assistance to farmers. This scheme has changed the direction of agriculture and the stage of farming.
Now the farmer does not have to wait for investment in the crop. There is no need to pledge your head for high-interest loans. At the time of planting crops, Rythu Bandhu is regularly providing assistance at the rate of 10 thousand rupees per acre in two installments. Telangana government has got the credit of providing investment funds to the farmer brothers even during the difficult times of Corona.
The government of Telangana has taken the responsibility of looking after the welfare of the farmers as well as the welfare of their families. If a farmer dies, what is the condition of that farmer’s family? That family who was the breadwinner till then, should they want street milk called Anna or Ramachandra? None of the previous governments thought in this direction. But the Telangana government thought.
If a farmer dies due to any reason, the Rythu Bima scheme is introduced to support the farmer’s family. Within ten days of the farmer’s death, an insurance compensation of five lakh rupees is provided to the family. The government has made it clear that even a farmer with half a piece of land is eligible for this insurance. One hundred percent of the insurance premium is borne by the state government.
In the past, if farmers committed suicide, then the governments would pay a nominal, eye-popping compensation. For that, the farmers’ families had to walk around the leaders and offices with their applications in hand, their legs tied and shedding tears. In addition to the pain of losing home direction, this effort was more painful. The Rythu Bima scheme has now brought the farmer families out of the predicament.
With seven thousand grain buying centers, the government is going to the doorstep of the farmer and collecting grain at a support price. Thus far the government has purchased six crore seventy six lakh tonnes of grain worth one crore twenty-one lakh crore. Even though the center refused, the Telangana government bought all the harvested crops at the support price and handed over the money to the farmer on time, the Telangana farmer was calm and relaxed.
Farmers in some districts have lost their crops due to the recent untimely rains and hail. Crops like rice, mango and maize were especially damaged. I personally visited the rain-affected areas and patted the farmers on the shoulder and encouraged them. On this occasion, some farmers said, “It doesn’t matter if one crop is lost. Let’s face it bravely. With the facilities provided by the government, I am very happy to say that we will reap the harvest again. Their words are a testimony to the morale that the government has created among the farmers during the decade. The state government has announced financial assistance of 10,000 rupees per acre without waiting for the meager assistance given by central teams in the name of visits and reports. No government has done this in the past. Since the government considers farmers’ welfare as the highest priority, it stood by the farmer in times of crisis.
While crops were grown in one crore acres in 2013-14 in the state, by 2022-23 the area under cultivation has increased to 2 crore 20 lakh acres. Telangana, once ranked 15th in Paddy production, is now competing for the top spot in the country. In 2014-15, the paddy crop was grown only in 34 lakh 97 thousand acres, but by 2022-23, it has increased to one crore 21 lakh acres. ]That is an increase of 247 percent. In 2014-15, cotton crop was cultivated in 41 lakh 83 thousand acres, and in 2022-23, it was cultivated in 50 lakh acres. That is 20 percent increase.
When it comes to crop yield, the yield of paddy in the state was 68 lakh tonnes in 2014-15 and Telangana has achieved a yield of over 3 crore tonnes in 2022-23. That is, a 341 percent increase. Also, cotton yield increased by 66 percent.
The government has identified Telangana lands as very suitable for palm oil cultivation. Oil palm cultivation is very profitable in our country, which imports palm oil worth lakhs of rupees. The government has decided to promote oil palm cultivation to benefit the farmers. At the time of the formation of Telangana, only 32 thousand acres of oil palm were grown in the state. Today it is spread over one lakh five thousand acres. The Agriculture Department is working to increase the cultivation area of this crop to 20 lakh acres.
No government in the country has thought of the need for a forum for farmers to discuss. To show the self-respect of the farmers, the Telangana government has constructed a total of 2,601 Rythu Vedikas, one for every 5 thousand acre cluster across the state. These farmer’s platforms are guiding the farmers as Telangana agricultural progress Deepikas.
Till 10 years before the advent of Telangana state, only 490 crore rupees were spent by the governments of that time for the mechanization of the agricultural sector, but in the last nine years, we have spent 963 crore rupees for agricultural machinery in Swarashtra, benefiting 6 lakh 70 thousand farmers. In the year 2022-23, we have allocated 500 crore rupees for the mechanization of the agricultural sector. After a decade, Telangana’s irrigation system is flowing. Telangana is flourishing as a peasant state.
Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi
Soon after the formation of the state, the government permanently solved many of the thorny problems that had plagued the people for decades. On the other hand, to achieve complete transformation in rural and urban areas which are chaotic, it has introduced comprehensive plans under the name of Rural Development and Urban Development. These plans achieved amazing results. Once upon a time, everywhere in the villages and towns of Telangana, garbage was piled up. The surroundings were unsanitary and smelly. Abandoned house ruins, disused and dangerous wells, potholes bent, twisted, broken power poles that children could fall into, scary electric wires dangling from where they might slip and shock, potholed roads, muddy streets, thickets of wild trees, sewage-logged canals, flickering streetlights the countryside was like a cesspit, and the towns looked like hell. At the end of the day, if someone died, they had to find a place for a dignified funeral.
As a solution to all these problems, rural development and urban development programs undertaken for the comprehensive development of villages and towns have changed the face of villages and towns.
Today villages and towns are made pleasant with infrastructure, cleanliness and greenery. This evolution did not come easily. This remarkable transformation was possible only because of strong laws, comprehensive planning and building infrastructure on a war footing.
Before 2014 local bodies did not have proper guidance regarding their responsibilities and duties. Local leadership without accountability is limited to politics and bureaucrats. As a result, the condition of villages and towns was at a worse stage.
The government introduced the new Panchayat Raj Act and the Municipal Act to change the functioning of local bodies. It has set clear objectives for the leaders and employees to be accessible to the people, provide transparent and responsible governance, collect taxes efficiently, increase cleanliness and greenness. The law includes provisions to take strict action against the employees who have shown laxity in the achievement of the targets and also against the public representatives. This has brought about a remarkable change in the performance of local institutions. Earlier it was great if three or four villages had one secretary. The Government of Telangana has appointed a Secretary for each Gram Panchayat. It has provided necessary tools for sanitation and plant cultivation. Today every village in Telangana has a tractor, trolley and tanker. Gram panchayats in any state in the country do not have this kind of facility.
The government has also appointed local body collectors to monitor the village and town administration from time to time. As a result of these measures, rural and urban areas took on a new look.
Our state has gained fame and prestige at the national level. Through these programs, we have been able to carry out many development programs in villages and towns such as cleanliness, freshwater accommodation, tree planting, construction of internal roads, sewerage management, greening, Vaikunthadhamas, farmers’ centers, construction of community halls. We have been able to provide all the qualifications required for the best panchayats.
The government has made 12,769 villages in Telangana i.e. 100 percent of the villages as ODF plus villages and achieved the top rank in the country. Recently in a meeting organized on the occasion of National Panchayat Raj Day in New Delhi, our villages received 13 National Awards. It is a matter of great pride for all of us to receive these from the hands of the President through the representatives of the respective local organizations.
Anyone who has seen the villages of Telangana today, are these the villages of yesteryear? How much change in how much? Rural areas have developed surprisingly.
Municipalities in Telangana have won a large number of national awards which is a testament to the success of urban development. 23 urban local bodies of the state have won awards in Swachh Sarvekshan 2022 awards announced by the Union Urban Development Department.
My heartiest congratulations to the village sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs, mandal presidents, Zilla Parishad chairmen, municipal chairmen, councilors, corporation mayors, corporators, Panchayat Raj and municipal employees who have brought immense glory to the state by effectively implementing rural and urban development programmes.
Hyderabad City Development
The growing metropolis of Hyderabad is a “miniature of India”. To meet the needs of the people in this ever-growing metropolis, the Sewerage Master Plan is being implemented under HMDA for the management of sewage in this city. 2,214 Crore Sunkishala In Take Well works for the continuous supply of drinking water in the city will be completed soon.
We have designed the expansion of metro rail from all parts of Hyderabad to the airport for the transportation facility of air passengers which is increasing day by day. The state government has decided to complete this project with a total cost of Rs 6,250 crore within the next three years with its own funds, and the foundation stone was also celebrated.
The government has undertaken massive initiatives to improve infrastructure in the capital city. In order to reduce the traffic problem in the city, the development of 42 key roads, flyovers, underpasses and RBOs has been undertaken at a cost of 67 thousand 149 crore rupees under the SSRDP. Most of these have been completed and are available to the public. The government has completed the construction of 22 link roads at a cost of 275 crore rupees.
Those who come from abroad and see Hyderabad are in awe. It is a matter of pride for all of us that Hyderabad has developed at a level comparable to any prestigious city in the world.
Telanganaku Haritha Haram
In order to recover from the environmental destruction in the union state, for the restoration of forests, the government has taken up a program called Haritaharam for Telangana in the spirit of the movement to plant trees across the state. We have organized this program on a large scale with the aim of restoring the depleted forests and increasing the green cover in the state from 22 percent to 33 percent. We are organizing this program as a movement with public cooperation.
We have planted a record 273 crore saplings in the last nine years. In 2015-16, the forest area in the state was 19,854 sq km and by 2023 it will increase to 26,969 sq km. Telangana has the highest area of forests in the country at 24.06. The tree density in 2014 was 2,549 sq km. Whereas currently it has increased to 2,848 sq. km. It is gratifying that the report of the Forest Survey of India has stated that as a result of the Haritaharam program for Telangana, the green cover has increased by 7.70 percent in the state.
Once upon a time, parks were not so accessible in towns and cities. Even if they are not properly managed. But today the Telangana government has established 19,472 rural nature forests and 2,725 large rural nature forests along with a nursery in every village. We have completed about one lakh kilometers of road construction across the state. That’s why now you can see greenery on any road. People who come to our state from other states are thrilled to see the colorful trees on the outskirts of Telangana, which is a source of pride for us. We have set up urban forest parks in 179 places at a cost of 700 crore rupees. Our city of Hyderabad has been recognized twice as the Tree City of the World with the results given by Haritaharam.
We have set a target of planting 20 crore saplings in the Haritaharam program in the coming monsoon season.Let’s celebrate Harithotsava on 19th June as part of this decade’s celebrations. In this, let’s organize a program of planting saplings in all irrigation projects, along canals, roads, government offices and schools everywhere. I am calling to share the part of Abala Gopalam in this program.
Along with fruit-bearing plants through green food, palm and swimming plants are also contributing to the employment of a large number of Gita workers. There is no such program anywhere else in the country. After China and Brazil, Telangana has gained international fame as the biggest human effort to increase greenery.
Haritanidhi is an innovative idea:
The Telangana government has started a new trend unlike anywhere else in the world. Haritanidhi has been set up with the participation of people from different communities. In this, members of the Legislative Assembly, Legislative Council, Members of Parliament, Government employees and students have been made participants in Haritanidhi. A green fund was established with the amount collected from them.
In the new Panchayati Raj and Municipal Acts, local bodies have included a provision to spend 10 percent of their budget on green development. This approach has achieved excellent results. The Forest Department is acting as the nodal agency for Haritanidhi.
Excellent results in Education
Looking across the country, there is no other state that can match Telangana in terms of Gurukul education. The system of Gurukula Vidyalayas, which started with the vision of PV Narasimha Rao, reached its peak today under the Telangana government. It is a historic development created by the Government of Telangana that 1,002 Gurukula Junior Colleges have been established in Telangana, which had to wait for decades for the establishment of a single junior college.
It is the Telangana government’s belief that if poor students want to advance in education, it will be possible only through Gurukula education. That’s why we have laid great emphasis on the education of teachers in the state. Today we have established up to 1,002 Gurukulas with good facilities. They provide education to 5 lakh 59 thousand students with quality facilities comparable to corporate schools. We have also increased the budget for their maintenance. Not only in the number of students but also in achieving the best results our students are proving second to none. Today, Gurukuls have grown to such a level that multinational companies like Cognizant and Infosys conduct campus interviews for students of Gurukula colleges in our state. Poor students from illiterate families are trained in Gurukuls and get admission in many prestigious institutes of the country. The talent of our Gurukula students has grown so high that it has touched the peak of Everest.
On the other hand, the government is implementing a massive program called Mana Uru – Mana Badi to gradually improve the infrastructure in government schools across the state.
Under this scheme, 12 types of infrastructure are being provided along with digital education. This infrastructure is being set up in three phases in 26,065 schools across the state. All the teachers have been trained to teach in English medium. With the aim of making the future citizens of India healthy and strong, the hostels and other educational institutions across the state are serving meals with rice. The recently released results have shown satisfactory results in all types of schools in the state. Based on the status of various states, according to the handbook released by RBI, Telangana has stood at the forefront in the enrollment of children. The Education Department has initiated many changes by setting high standards in the teaching and learning process of the students. I am glad to inform you that we are going to provide nutritious value Ragijava to students in schools in the morning.
Higher education is a dream for poor students. Until now, it was thought that it was impossible to study abroad. But, the Telangana government has made the impossible possible. Highly motivated students, even if they are gifted, should not be deprived of financial means or higher education. Therefore, we are providing them with a foreign education scholarship of 20 lakh rupees. In the name of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Ambedkar for the Dalit community, for the weaker sections, for the EBCs in the name of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, for the Brahmins in the name of Vivekananda Overseas Education Scheme, for the minorities in the name of KCR Overseas Education Scheme, we are collecting 20 lakh rupees. Many students who benefited under this scheme are now pursuing higher education in different countries.
No matter which country or state the students of our state face any danger, the government responds immediately and supports them like I am there. You know that during the events of Ukraine abroad or the events of Manipur in our country, facing difficult situations, our government sent special planes to bring our students home safely.
The Best medical services
The youngest state has expanded the healthcare sector in a short span of time. Raised the standards of medical services. By the time Telangana came to power in 2014, the health sector was on the upswing. If there is no needle, if there is a needle there is no medicine, there are no beds or oxygen facilities, the staff or people have lost their trust. Today in self-governance, the health sector is the closest to the people. Increased credibility. Today, Telangana has become the leader in the country in providing health benefits to the people.
We have developed the infrastructure in all the dispensaries on a large scale. We have arranged the necessary medical equipment and staff in the hospitals. We have set up free diagnostic centers in various districts of the state, free dialysis centers for kidney patients and oxygen beds in all hospitals. In the early days of the formation of the state, there were only 1400 oxygen beds, but we have increased their number to 27,966 i.e. 20 times. Recently 950 civil assistant surgeons and 1442 assistant professors were recruited in the medical department.
We are constructing four government super specialty hospitals on all sides of Hyderabad city to provide prompt corporate level medical care to the patients coming to the capital city from all over the state. As part of the expansion of NIMS, I myself am laying the foundation stone of the new medical building with two thousand more beds.
The construction of a super specialty hospital with a capacity of two thousand beds at a cost of 1100 crore rupees in Warangal city is going on at a fast pace. This hospital is likely to be opened very soon.
In the past, there were no medical facilities in the slums of the city. The poor were forced to turn to private doctors. 256 basti dispensaries have been started in Hyderabad city to provide healthcare to the slum poor. Out of these 57 types of medical tests are being conducted. Best treatments are provided.
Similar to basti dispensaries, the government is going to start rural dispensaries in rural areas. Telangana state has achieved remarkable progress in various health indices due to KCR Kits, Nutrition Kits, Arogya Lakshmi and other schemes introduced by the government. The delivery rate in government hospitals has increased from 30 percent to 62 percent. Also, the maternal mortality rate during childbirth has reduced from 92 per lakh in 2014 to 43 at present. The number of infant deaths was 39 per thousand in 2014 and has reduced significantly to 21 at present.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, we have launched an excellent program called “Arogya Manhai” for the protection of women’s health in the state. This program is currently being implemented experimentally in one hundred dispensaries in the state. In the future, the government will implement it in 1200 more hospitals. These women clinics work every Tuesday only for women. In this, from the attendant to the doctors, everything is women. Women can solve their health problems quickly. Medical tests are done here and medicines are also provided on the spot. Referral hospitals are recommended if necessary.
By the time the state was formed, there were only three or three medical colleges in Telangana region. Osmania and Gandhi existed before the formation of the common state. Government is establishing one medical college for each district. In the first seven and a half years, the government started 12 new medical colleges. The government has taken steps to establish 9 more medical colleges this year. This will increase the number of medical colleges in the state to 26. The goal of having one medical college for every district will be achieved soon. While there were 850 medical seats in the Telangana region in 2014, their number has increased to 2,790 by 2022-23. Along with these, the PG seats have also doubled. Telangana ranks first in the country in medical education with an average of 19 MBBS seats per lakh population. It ranks second in the country in terms of medical PG seats with 7 seats per lakh population.
Aasra Pensions for social security
I believe that progress without a humanistic perspective is futile. A government that doesn’t wipe the tears of the poor and fill their stomachs doesn’t feel good. That is why Telangana government is spending lion’s share of funds for public welfare along with development. I think it is a merit of the Telangana government that people are saying that there is no town in Telangana without a Hanuman temple, and there is no house that is not covered by the government welfare scheme.
Previous governments used to pay only Rs 200 under Asara pensions. They are also not available to all eligible. What is the use of those pensions which do not fill the stomach of the beneficiaries at least once? Therefore, we have increased the amount given under pension to 2,016 rupees in Telangana state. We have increased the pension paid to the disabled to 3,016 rupees. Besides increasing the amount of pension, we have also increased the number of beneficiaries significantly. Apart from the elderly, widows and disabled, we are also providing pension to beedi workers, single women, pylaria sufferers and dialysis patients. In 2014, there were 29 lakh beneficiaries, today there are more than 44 lakh. The number of beneficiaries has further increased as the age limit for getting pension has been reduced to 57 years.
We are providing one lakh 116 rupees financial assistance under the Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadimubarak scheme so that the marriage of girls from poor families do not become a burden to the parents. So far the government has conducted marriages of 13 lakh 16 thousand girls. The government has spent more than 11 thousand crore rupees for this. Old people, women, the disabled, etc. who are receiving Asara Pensions are blessing the government. I respectfully inform you that the love and affection of all of them are the shield of protection of the Telangana government.
Weavers Welfare
The series of suicides of leaders in the common state is very disturbing to us. After the formation of Swarashtra, the Telangana government has undertaken many welfare and relief programs to bring light to the lives of the leaders. While the central government is giving only 10 percent subsidy on yarn and dyes to handloom workers, the Telangana government is providing 40 percent subsidy under the Cheneta Mitra scheme.
In addition to this, apart from providing loan facility to the weavers at zero interest, from 2010 to 2017, we have waived off loans up to one lakh rupees taken by each handloom worker from national banks and district cooperative banks. Since 2017, we have been handing over the manufacture of Bathukamma sarees to weavers to provide employment and support them. Till now under this program Rs. 1,727 crores have been provided.
Welfare of Fishermen
Apart from developing water resources, the Telangana state government has also taken up the rearing of fish and shrimp fry in all the reservoirs of the state. It gave light to the lives of the fishermen by providing them rights over them. The government has spent Rs.500 crores on fish farming. The families of fishermen who died in an accident will be given Rs. 4 lakhs, the government is standing by providing ex gratia at the rate of another Rs.5 lakhs, a total of Rs.9 lakhs.
Welfare of Toddy Tappers
The Telangana government is implementing many welfare programs for the Gowda brothers who depend on the profession of stone carving. When the Telangana government was formed, the Toddy shops in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, which were closed in the union state, were reopened. This has sustained the employment of thousands of stone masons. Telangana government has abolished tree tax for the welfare of stone quarry workers. Moreover, the past tax arrears have also been waived off.
15 percent reservation has been given to the Gowda brothers in allotment of wine shops unlike anywhere else in the country. This allowed the Gowda brothers to stand strong in the business sector.
A deceased or seriously injured Toddy Tapper worker is entitled to a compensation of Rs 50,000 only in the Union State. Taking the welfare of the Gowda brothers as the main responsibility, the Telangana government increased this compensation to 5 lakh rupees and showed its sincerity.
Telangana is the only state where the government is providing a pension of Rs 2,016 to every Toddy worker who completes 50 years. The Telangana government has so far given nearly Rs 800 crore as pensions to 65,668 Geetha workers in the state. Similar to Rythu Bima, the government is going to provide an insurance scheme of 5 lakh rupees to the Gowda brothers. The government pays the insurance premium amount required for this.
Welfare of Minorities
The Telangana government is providing the fruits of development and welfare to all people without discrimination or neglect, establishing trust in all communities as the foundation of interfaith equality. It is implementing many schemes for the development of minorities. 107 special residential schools for minority boys and 97 for girls have been set up. Telangana has become number one in the country in the education of minority girls. A total of 10,000 people are being given a living allowance of Rs.5,000 per month for Imams and Maujams. The Minority Finance Corporation is implementing programs such as Own Your Auto, Driver Empowerment Scheme, Overseas Scholarships etc.
The government officially organizes Ramadan and Christmas celebrations and provides new clothes to poor Muslims and Christians. On the occasion of Bathukamma, Telangana government distributes new sarees to girls.
Recently, Telangana government gave minority status to Jains and there was happiness among them. This is the rationale behind the policy of interfaith reconciliation being followed by the Telangana government.
Brahmin welfare
The government stands by the downtrodden sections of the society as well as the poor of the upper castes. Poor Brahmins who depend on the temples for their livelihood are being supported through the Dhupadipa Vivedyam scheme. The priests who perform duties in the temples run by the Devadaya and Charitable Department are paid monthly salaries from the government treasury. Recently, I single-handedly inaugurated the Vipprohita Brahmin Parishad building at Gopan Pally, Hyderabad, with all the facilities and at a cost of crores of rupees. I hope that this building will become a bridge to Indian orthodox culture, a Vedic library, a guide to the maintenance of various rituals, a center of cooperation for poor Brahmins and a benefactor of the world. I hope that this building, established in the name of Vipprothiya, will come out in a universal and universal way.
I would like to inform you that the Telangana Government is starting a Sanskrit University in the name of Mahamahopadhyay Kolachala Mallinatha Suri, who brought the literary excellence of Mahakavi Kalidasa to the world with his vivid comment.
The government has decided to increase the monthly honorarium given to Vedic / Shastra scholars by the Brahmin Parishad from Rs.2,500 to Rs.5,000. The government has reduced the eligibility age for this allowance from 75 years to 65 years. At present, the Dhupadipa Naivedya scheme is applicable to 3,645 temples in the state. Dhupa Deepa Naivedya Scheme is also being extended to 2,796 more temples across the state. With this, 6,441 temples in the state will receive maintenance expenses under Dhupa Deepa Naivedyam scheme. So far, the government has been providing Rs 6,000 per month to priests for the maintenance of temples under the Dhupadipa Naivedya scheme. The government has decided to increase this amount to 10 thousand rupees. I would like to inform you that the 2 lakh rupees given for the maintenance of Vedic schools will be given as Annual Grant henceforth. The government has taken a decision to apply the fee reimbursement scheme to Brahmin students studying in prestigious institutes like I.I.T, I.I.M.
Administrative reforms
Administrative reforms have acted as a great driving force for the rapid development of Telangana. The administrative system is closer to the people. Monitoring made easy. Distance burden for people has been reduced. Accountability has increased among officials and public representatives. The development of the respective district centers has been accelerated. In order to make governance transparent, Telangana was reorganized into 33 districts which were 10 districts after the statehood.
153 Mandals, 35 Revenue Divisions, 8 Municipal Corporations, 87 new Municipalities and 4,914 Gram Panchayats have been newly formed. Earlier, the Collectorate buildings had limited facilities. Even the toilets were not proper. Chairs were not available for people coming to the office to sit. But, at present, we are building integrated Collectorate office complexes with all facilities in various districts. It is a testament to the glory of our progress that no state has collectorates at the level of these office buildings. I sincerely wish that these offices flourish as holy temples serving the people with devotion.
Employee Friendly Govt
As soon as the state came into being, we provided Telangana state special increments to the government employees. We have given 43 percent fitment to employees which is unprecedented in history. Despite the economic ups and downs due to Corona, we have given 30 percent fitment in the last PRC. We have implemented this for contract and outsourced staff as well. In recognition of the service rendered by Angan Wadi teachers and workers to the rural community, the government has increased their salaries by 325 percent in three phases.
In 2014, Angan Wadi teachers were paid just Rs 4,200 and their assistants got Rs 2,200. At present we are paying Rs.13,650 to Anganwadi teachers in Telangana state, Rs.7,800 to mini Anganwadi teachers and Rs.7,800 to Anganwadi helpers in the country.
The role of Asha workers is crucial in keeping the village healthy. They are truly Ashwini deities in protecting pregnant women and infants. In 2014, they were getting only Rs.1500. Today the Telangana government is giving them a respectable salary of Rs 9,750.
I am proud to announce that our Telangana employees are getting the highest wages in many departments in the country today. It is well known that Telangana Government is a government that is friendly with employees from the very beginning. VRAs take the lead in every work done in the villages. The process of regularization of services of about 20 thousand VRAs across the state is going on. Similarly, the government appointed a committee to regularize the services of 9355 junior panchayat secretaries. The process is ongoing. We have overcome many obstacles and are making massive job placements to meet the aspirations of the unemployed in the state. For this, we have obtained the President’s orders as per the constitution for the reservation system for local candidates in the formation and appointment of local cadres. Due to this order, we have arranged for job placements in 33 districts, 7 zones and 2 multizones in Telangana. In the past, there was 60 percent to 80 percent local reservation for the locals. But in the new recruitment system being implemented now, from the level of attendant to the level of RDO, 95 percent of jobs are available to locals. This is another success of Telangana government. On the one hand we are filling vacancies in government offices and on the other hand, we are regularizing the services of the staff who are working on a contract basis for a long time. We are able to provide employment opportunities to lakhs of people in the private sector.
Industrial Growth
The TSIPass Act, enacted immediately after the Telangana government came to power, marked the beginning of revolutionary changes in the state. This has facilitated the granting of permits for the establishment of industries. In addition to this, 24-hour electricity, better law and order, and stable and efficient administration has become a boon for industries. Telangana is now an attractive destination for many national and international organizations.
Many industries have shut down due to power cuts, power holidays and water scarcity in the union state. The industrialists were bewildered. Unemployment increased with the closure of industries. With the formation of the Telangana state, all these problems got a radical solution.
Today, because of TS Ipass, industrialists are coming forward to set up industries with great enthusiasm. Along with providing all the necessary infrastructure for setting up industries in our state, prompt approvals and no place for corruption are making the industrialists happy. Investments of 2,64,956 crore rupees have been received so far. 17 lakh 77 thousand people are getting employment.
IT sector progress in Telangana
The state of Telangana has also excelled in the field of IT. Since the formation of the state, the value of IT annual exports has increased from 57 thousand 258 crore rupees to 1 lakh 83 thousand 569 crore rupees. That means a growth rate of 220 percent has been recorded in Swarasht. It is remarkable that there is a 156 percent growth in the recruitment of IT jobs. As of 2014, there were only 3 lakh 23 thousand 396 IT employees in Telangana, now their number has increased to 8 lakh 27 thousand 124.
We have not limited the IT sector to the city of Hyderabad but have also expanded it to the second tier cities of the state. We have also constructed IT towers in Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Mahbubnagar and Siddipet. 1400 crore rupees have been given as incentive after the accession of the state to encourage SC entrepreneurs. We are also giving due priority to reviving the industries that have collapsed in the state. We have renovated several units like Sirpur Paper Mills.
After the accession of the state, the name of the city of Hyderabad is becoming famous nationally and internationally. It is leading in attracting international investments. In the recent World Economic Forum conference held in Davos, Telangana received investments of thousands of crores of rupees. We are getting invitations to many international conferences. Apart from the famous companies that came in the past, recently many famous companies from England and America have come forward to invest in our state. Some firms have even made on-the-spot deals.
This is a proof of Telangana government’s sincerity. This is the national and international reputation of our state. This reveals the trust and confidence of other countries in Telangana. T-Hub, V-Hub, T-Works and Reach organizations are helping to encourage young entrepreneurs who come up with innovative innovations.
T-Hub has created a record in the country for the innovation of innovative start-ups. That’s why we started T-Hub-2. In 2022, Mana T-Hub won the Best Incubator in the National Startup Awards organized by the Government of India.
Strict maintenance of law and order
Telangana is leading in maintaining law and order. A state needs to maintain law and order effectively if it is to develop holistically. Peace and order bring stability. Where there is stability, business transactions will run smoothly. Today, our state is receiving investments like nowhere else in the country because of the law and order management in the state which is implemented according to international standards. Today, along with strengthening the police system in the state, we have established the Telangana Narcotics Control Bureau, Cyber Safety Bureau, and “Command and Control Center” at the international level. We have installed around 10 lakh CC cameras across the state to strengthen the surveillance system in the state. This is a record in the country.
One Lakh kilometers of roads
Roads are a sign of progress of the state. In united Andhra Pradesh, Telangana roads were bumpy and gravelly, so the journey was hellish. Roads in Swarashtra are well developed. We have constructed double-lane roads to mandal and district centers and four-lane roads to the state capital. The length of national highways has doubled. The total road network in the state has increased to 1 lakh 9 thousand km.
New Secretariat – 125 feet Ambedkar statue
After fighting to achieve Telangana independence, we are rebuilding almost all sectors. In the heart of Hyderabad, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat Building has become a shining symbol of Telangana State’s prestige. In the past, the buildings in the Secretariat premises were scattered here and there, disorganized and inconvenient. The path leading to the chief minister’s sitting chamber was like entering a dark cave. There were also no emergency exits to escape in case of accidental fire.
There was a situation where the Secretariat employees had to eat at their office tables. Now we have built a new secretariat building which is beautifully decorated with modern touches to connect the offices of all the departments and showcase the architectural skill. Constitution maker, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was provided article to achieve Telangana in the Constitution. In order to carry forward the aspirations and ideals of Babasaheb, the secretariat was also named after him and a 125 feet statue of Ambedkar was proudly unveiled near the secretariat.
I am proud to announce that we are going to install the statue of Telangana Talli, the symbol of Telangana’s existence, in the spacious area opposite the Ambedkar Secretariat.
Housing construction for the poor is a continuous process
We have taken up the construction of double-bedroom houses to fulfill the dream of owning a house for the poor. We are providing these beautifully constructed houses with all the facilities at a great cost to the poor.
There is no other scheme to build two-bedroom houses for the poor for free. There is no construction of such houses for the poor anywhere in the country. The complex of two-bedroom houses being built in an area of 124 acres in Kollur resembles a township. Here we have built 15,660 plots in 117 blocks. This is just an example. Housing construction for the poor is a continuous process. We will continue this.
I have already been informed that the government will provide 3 lakh rupees in three phases under the Grilahakshmi scheme for any poor person to build houses on their own land. We are providing the benefit of the Griha Lakshmi scheme to three thousand people in each constituency.
Spiritual glory of Telangana
The government is working hard to restore Telangana’s historical heritage and spiritual elevation to its former glory. The reconstruction of the Yadagiri temple, a symbol of Telangana’s spiritual glory, is hailed as a miracle by all. The government has designed this temple to be earth-shattering with septate gopurams and Krishna stone sculptures and to evoke a sense of spirituality at every step. Today, people visit the temple in large numbers and are amazed to see the structures there. The number of devotees coming to Yadagiri is increasing day by day.
Also, we sanctioned 500 crore rupees for the development of Anjanna temple in Kondagattu. Recently I visited the temple myself and decided to make it the most famous Anjaneya Swamy temple in the country. Similarly, we have allocated one hundred crores each for the development of the Vemulawada and Dharmapuri temples. Works are in progress. The government is determined to make the Bhadradri Ramachandra Swamy temple similarly magnificent.
The Ramappa Temple, which stands as a symbol of Kakatiya art in our state, has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. There is a lot of work done by the government behind this recognition. Today our Ramappa name is famous all over the world.
Every devotee of Sanatana Dharma wishes to visit Kashi Kshetra at least once in his life. For the convenience of devotees going to Kashi from Telangana state, a 60 thousand square feet hostel is going to be built there. Similarly, we are constructing another accommodation there for Telangana devotees who go for Sabarimala darshan. I have personally spoken to the Chief Minister of Kerala in this regard.
The Telangana region has flourished as a center of Buddhism and Jainism since ancient times. In Nagarjuna Sagar where Acharya Nagarjuna walked, the Telangana government has built a magnificent Buddha forest. It attracts Buddhists and other tourists at national and international levels.
Concluding remarks
This is Telangana’s revolutionary victory journey which is at the beginning of a decade. I feel blessed in my life that today I have been able to bring Telangana to the point where every Telangana citizen is known as a star shining in the blue sky of India.
I am eternally grateful to the people of Telangana for giving me the golden opportunity, and fortune to spearhead both the Telangana statehood movement and the reconstruction of Telangana.
My dear Telangana state needs to reach many more destinations and the highest peaks to reach. With all your blessings, I promise that I will continue to work for the all-round development of Telangana as long as I have the strength in my body.
The Telangana government is constantly working to spread the spirit of Telangana throughout the country. The Government of Telangana will progress and shape into a prosperous state where all people will prosper with welfare, happiness and equal opportunities. I would like to conclude by once again conveying my best wishes to all the people of Telangana on the state formation.
“Dharmasya Vijayostu.. Adharmasya Nashostu..
Pranishu Sadbhavanastu.. Visvasya Kalyanamastu..”
Jai Telangana..
Jai Bharat..
