Legislative Council Chairman

Sri Gutha Sukender Reddy was born on 02nd February, 1954 in Urumadla Village of Chityal Mandal in Nalgonda District, Telangana State to Sri Gutha Venkat Reddy and Smt. Gutha Saraswathi.

Starting his political career as Chairman, Chityal Agricultural Market Committee, Sri Sukender Reddy climbed up the ladder to serve as the Chairman, Nalgonda and Rangareddy Milk Producers Co-operative Union (1992-99), Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) member from Devarakonda (1995), Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Dairy Development Cooperative Federation (1995-99) and Director, National Dairy Development Board of India (1998).

He was the Member of Parliament (MP) to the 13th (1999-2004), 15th (2009-2014) and 16th Lok Sabha (2014-19) from Nalgonda constituency. He was the Chairman, Telangana Rashtra Rythu Samanvaya Samithi (2018-2019) before being elected unanimously as the Chairman, Telangana Legislative Council in 2019. He continued in the post till 3rd June, 2021. Sri Gutha Sukender Reddy has been re-elected unopposed as the Chairman, Telangana Legislative Council on 14.03.2022.
