“There is no match or competition for Telangana in the implementation of welfare schemes. The Telangana state’s budget outlay has increased to 2.50 lakh crore from Rs 60,000 crore in just seven year time. The state has grown to the level of spending up to Rs 2.10 lakh crore. Telangana, which had experienced power woes 7 years ago, is now the leader of the country and no state is close to compete. I am proud to say that today Telangana is the number one state in per capita consumption of electricity in the country”.
CM said that the reason for all the achievements is due to the combined efforts put in by the Ministers, Legislators and public representatives and also the government officials and employees who worked with double dedication.
Once a drought affected Palamuru district emerged as the top district in foodgrain production. CM shared his experiences and memories of visiting the Palamuru district during the Telangana movement.
“Those days, Professor Jayashankar, my friend Lakshma Reddy, MLA of Jadcharla and myself visited the district. There was a small forest in Nawabet Mandal near Ammavari Temple. Jayashankar and I discussed dying trees in the drought-prone district. When I was touring on Nalgonda, Devarakonda and Kalwakurthi areas by helicopter, it looked like a desert.
During padayatra from Alampur Jogulamba to Gadwal also, he saw the sufferings of people which brought tears down. Seeing the condition of the people in Nadigadda, my friend Niranjan Reddy and me broke down. The whole village also wept that day. Today Palamuru district is very happy. On the recent visit to participate in the program of Gadwal MLA Krishnamohan Reddy’s father, I was very happy to see harvesters who are harvesting crops and farmers selling grains in fields. We are moving forward to achieve excellent progress.
Good deeds we do remain our most satisfying possessions in life
No one is permanent including chief Minister, Ministers, Secretaries and other officials and people representatives. No one stays in power permanently. We should render service to people which gives us most satisfaction equivalent to thousands and lakhs of crores of property. Job satisfaction is the only thing that is left in the end of life.
Path shown by PVNR is ideal for Gurukuls
Great leader PV Narasimha Rao was born in Telangana soil and ascended to the level of Prime Minister. During his days as the Education Minister, PV himself took the initiative of opening a residential school called ‘Sarvail’ residential schools which contributed the progress. Today, state DGP Mahender Reddy also risen to the level of State DGP because of Sarvail School. Taking inspiration from PV, government set up one thousand Gurukula schools across the state of Telangana unlike anywhere else in India. Be it tribal, dalit, minority brothers or BC brothers, the government set up residential schools in such a way that they are accessible to all communities. Some residential colleges have been set up in the first phase. There is a need to increase the number of institutions.
Design of ‘Kanti Velugu’ Programme
CM explained what led to the design of the ‘Kanti Velugu’ scheme. It was found that 127 people, including 27 children, were suffering from eye ailments in a small adopted village in Gajwel. Teachers at school and parents at home were beating those children since they could not study. To get out of such a pathetic situation, government introduced Kanti Velugu programme and not for petty politics. CM instructed district collectors and officials to make the second phase of Kanti Velugu a grand success.
Government conceived “KCR Kits” scheme with humane approach
CM said that ‘KCR Kit’ was brought keeping in mind the poor women of Telangana state. The TRS government does every work with humane approach through discussion, brainstorming, thinking, clear understanding and a perspective. Poor girls continue to work for livelihoods even after pregnancy. A study was conducted on working pregnant women and the newborn baby. The objective of KCR Kits is to encourage institutional delivery and provide financial assistance to pregnant women. To raise the self-esteem of poor pregnant women, the government has taken up the programme so that the government bears the loss of wages that occurs to them as a social responsibility. “Amma Odi” vehicles introduced to increase institutional deliveries.
Combined work will draw amazing results
Reforms are a continuous process. Reforms will continue as long as mankind exists on earth, and there will be no end to it. New reforms are implemented according to the conditions of the time. If everyone works together with same spirit and love, without ever mixing the ideas and thoughts, very good results will be obtained. If a chief minister, a minister, an MLA or a collector thinks nothing, nothing will happen. If everyone works together and works together, great results will come. Telangana state proved this. Seven years ago, we did not know what our budget was, we did not know what the economic trend was. Somebody cursed us and some blessed us. “CM said that what is before us is the result of everyone’s collective efforts.
