Whereas, according to section 357A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 inserted by Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Act, 2008, every State Government is required to prepare a Scheme for providing funds for the purpose of compensation to the victim or his dependents who have suffered loss or injury as a result of the crime and who require rehabilitation, inco-ordination with the Central Government

And whereas, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India has been requesting the State Governments for preparation of the Scheme as required under section 357A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and intimation of the same to them, so as to appraise the same to the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in compliance with the directions ​​​issued by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
