Regularize the jobs of Panchayat Secretaries: CM

Chief Minister Sri K. Chandrashekar Rao termed the role of Panchayat Secretaries in the development of Telangana Village Panchayats as commendable. Hon’ble CM stated that their efforts are evident as the Telangana villages won several national awards competing with other villages of other States in the country. CM hoped that the Panchayat Secretaries should not be complacent with what they have achieved. They should continue the efforts towards bringing qualitative change in Telangana villages and further development with the participation of the people.

In this background, CM Sri KCR has decided to regularize the jobs of Panchayat Secretaries who completed a four-year training period after examining their performance as per the prescribed norms. In this regard, a high-level review meeting was held at the State Secretariat on Tuesday.

The state government has entrusted the Panchayat Secretaries with the responsibility of preserving the greenery in villages, including planting and protecting saplings. Panchayat Secretaries will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the villages.

In this context, the committee formed at the district level will evaluate the performance of the Panchayat Secretaries who have completed their probation period. The high-level meeting has decided that Panchayat Secretaries who have achieved at least two-thirds of the targets set by the district committees would be regularised. CS Smt.
